Home is Where the Love Is

Turning a house into a home…

What-a-Great-Website Wednesday! Week 5

Good morning! Can you believe it’s already the 23rd of May? It’s crazy that we’re almost halfway through 2012. Time is flying.

A few months back, I was on Twitter and read a post from Adam Young (better known as Owl City) that linked to a video of a commercial. After watching this video, I knew I had to see more of these “commercials.”  On Rhett and Link’s website, it says, “We love local commercials, and we want to come to your town and make one. We’ve got a video camera and plenty of ideas. All we need to know from you is where we should go.” They’ve been all over the US, recording commercials for every type of business, from tattoo parlors to auto repossession.

After watching several of their commercials, I found out these guys, Rhett and Link, do more than just commercials; they have a video channel on YouTube and post daily. In their videos, they talk about lots of random topics, such as their families, popular news, food, music, etc. They also have a music channel and yes, they do sing. Quite often, actually. Some of their music videos have over 12 million hits. They have more than 800,000 subscribers and nearly 136 million video hits.

The best thing about Rhett and Link’s videos? It’s clean comedy. It’s difficult to find clean comedy these days, but Rhett and Link prove it still exists. I could watch these videos with my parents without being embarrassed, and I could watch them 15 years from now with my kids without worrying about what they might hear.

Hope you get a kick out of Rhett and Link! 🙂
